Beach Clubs Begin in Baytown after Hurricane Ike

Despite the delay caused by Hurricane Ike in the Houston/Baytown area, Beach Clubs have begun with great success! The recovery of Ike left schools closed for more than two weeks; our clubs were just able to start the last week of October.

The first club day was great with 27 children at our Highlands Elementary Club and 30 at our Austin Elementary Club. We have already witnessed one child ask Jesus to be his “Forever Friend”. The second week is promising to be even bigger. After the destruction of so much of the Baytown area, now more than ever, the kids need and want to hear about our God who is in control and never changes! It has been a blessing to serve in these schools where we have been welcomed back so warmly.

It is impossible to talk about the success of Beach Club in Baytown without giving praise to God for those great volunteers who have listened to His call. The Baytown KBC volunteers are among the best you will find. They are so much fun and deeply committed to reaching the next generation for Christ. We are anxious to expand into two more schools in the Goose Creek Consolidated ISD in January and are actively looking for more school districts across the area. God is amazing!
