Born in China in 1902 to Christian missionaries, Eric was a bright and studious child who captured the imagination of the entire world with his resolute faith, character, and conviction.

Though he spent his early years in China with his parents, he was sent to boarding school in England, eventually ending up at Edinburgh University in Scotland. It was during his time that he became a world-class runner.

At the British Olympic Trials in 1923, Eric set a new, long-standing British record for the 100-yard race. He also won the 220-yard race in record time, qualifying him for the 1924 Paris Olympics!

But Eric’s Christian faith was publicly tested in Paris when the 100-meter qualifying race was scheduled for a Sunday. Eric felt Sunday was the Lord’s day, and even though it was his best event, he never ran on Sundays. When he refused to run, he was initially labeled a traitor to his country. But he stood his ground, choosing to honor God and not compromise his faith.

Backed into a corner, the British Olympic committee made an unprecedented change and put him in the 200-meter and 400-meter races. He won the Bronze medal in the 200, and set a new Olympic and World Record in the 400, becoming a national hero, not so much because of his on-track achievement, but for his unwavering faith.

Eric Liddell’s life was memorialized in the 1981 movie Chariots of Fire, which won four Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Something incredible is happening in Burleson, Texas! God is moving in a powerful way through KiDs Beach Club®! Three local schools have become places of life change, where kids are not only hearing about Jesus but responding to His love in amazing ways.

At Bransom Academy of the Arts, 43 children are attending Beach Club®, and already, one child has made a profession of faith this year.

At Norwood Elementary, 52 kids gather each week to learn about Jesus, and the impact is undeniable! 18 children have given their lives to Christ, plus three more just this week!

At Taylor Elementary, Beach Club® is reaching 56 kids, and nine have made a profession of faith so far this year.

That’s over 30 children who have made Jesus their Forever Friend!

One of those kids is Rider, a 5th grader at Beach Club. Rider’s twin brother accepted Christ last year, and this year, it was Rider’s turn. He came with a serious heart, fully understanding what he was doing, and made Jesus his Forever Friend. Later that day, his brother asked, “Well, did you do it?” to which Rider proudly responded, “Yes, I sure did!”

The impact doesn’t stop with just the kids. When a child says “yes” to Jesus, the ripple effect spreads to their families, friends, and local churches. These clubs are becoming bridges that are connecting kids to Christ, families to faith, and communities to the hope of the Gospel.

This is why we do what we do. Beach Clubs® aren’t just an after-school program; they are life-changing, eternity-shaping moments for kids who may not hear about Jesus anywhere else.

God is moving. Let’s keep the fire burning!

Lily, a fifth grader, made the life-changing decision to trust Jesus at Beach Club^®. Little did she know, her faith would spark a movement within her entire family.

A few weeks after her salvation, Lily told her mom she wanted to go to church. Though hesitant, her mom agreed. And to everyone’s surprise, Lily’s little sister and grandmother came along too. This was a miraculous moment, as her grandmother had previously vowed never to step inside a church again.

The next Sunday, even more family members showed up: Uncles, aunts, and cousins, filling two full rows of pews. That morning, Lily felt something stirring in her heart. She told her pastor, “Something’s wrong… I need to talk to you aboutsomething missing.” As they walked through her salvation decision, she realized what she needed was baptism. Just as she made that decision, her uncle stepped forward, saying, “Pastor, I need to get saved.” Right then and there, he surrendered his life to Christ.

The impact didn’t stop there. In the following weeks, Lily’s cousin also gave her life to Jesus, and her cousin’s mom, recommitted her faith and was baptized. Then, Lily and her uncle were baptized together, marking another incredible moment for their growing faith-filled family.

Lily and her family have been faithfully attending church and even Wednesday night Bible studies. What started with one child’s salvation has led to an entire family drawing closer to Jesus and it all began with KiDs Beach Club^®.

The KiDs Beach Club^® team recently had the incredible opportunity to represent our ministry at the 2025 Children's Pastors Conference (CPC) in Orlando, Florida. This annual conference is a time for children’s ministry leaders from across the nation and beyond to come together, and it served as the perfect platform for our team to share our purpose of reaching unchurched children and their families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our National Church Expansion Director, Brian Broussard, Mobilization Coordinator, Tina Kimbro, and Club Relations Director, Tammy Terrell, were there representing KiDs Beach Club^®. Armed with hearts full of passion to connect churches with their local communities, they met with hundreds of children’s pastors and leaders from all over the United States and even Canada.

Sharing the Vision

During the conference, Brian, Tina, and Tammy engaged in meaningful conversations with ministry leaders who are eager to make an eternal impact on the lives of kids in their communities. Many were excited to learn about KiDs Beach Club’s unique approach to partnering with churches to host after-school Bible clubs in public schools—a space where many children may never have the opportunity to hear about Jesus.

“It was so awesome to meet leaders from all over,” said Brian Broussard. “We had the chance to show them how KiDs Beach Club^® can be a practical and powerful tool to connect with kids and their families.”

Expanding Connections

Throughout the three-day event, our team networked with leaders from a wide variety of church denominations and sizes. These conversations were more than just introductions; they were the beginnings of partnerships that have the potential to transform lives. One of the most exciting moments was connecting with leaders from Canada. The idea of taking the Gospel into schools and reaching children in another country through Beach Clubs^® is truly exciting.

Looking Ahead

The connections made at CPC 2025 are already bearing fruit. Several churches expressed immediate interest in launching Beach Clubs^® in their local schools, and many more were eager to explore how this ministry could impact their communities. Our team left Orlando energized and full of hope, knowing that these partnerships will lead to children and families encountering the love of Jesus.
