At KiDs Beach Club^®, we believe every child deserves to know that they are loved, valued, and prayed for. That’s why we are excited to announce the launch of a brand-new ministry initiative: Prayer Anchors.

Just as an anchor holds a ship steady in the waves, Prayer Anchors are individuals who commit to praying for a specific child in our Beach Clubs^®. Each Prayer Anchor is “assigned” a child by name from one of our clubs, and their commitment is simple yet powerful, lift these kids up in prayer regularly, asking God to guard their hearts, guide their steps, and draw them closer to Him.

Why Prayer Matters

Beach Clubs^® are places where children encounter the love of Christ, many for the very first time. These students are walking through challenges at home, in school, and in their communities, and they need a foundation of prayer. We know that transformation happens when God’s people pray. Prayer Anchors provide a spiritual covering that prepares hearts for the Good News of Jesus and supports them as they take steps of faith.

How It Works

• Sign Up – Volunteers and supporters can join the Prayer Anchors ministry through a simple online form.
• Receive Names – Each Prayer Anchor will be given the name of a specific child to pray for.
• Pray Faithfully – Whether daily, weekly, or as God brings them to mind, Prayer Anchors commit to consistently praying for their child.

Michael was born into a modest home in Dallas in 1967, the youngest of five children. He had a very normal upbringing, but tended to focus on two things: his studies and running.

At 19, Michael enrolled at Baylor University, where he ended up on the track & field team running sprint races. Although breaking record after record in his meets on the track, Michael still focused on his studies, graduating with a degree in accounting.

But then came the international track & field world, where Michael soon sprinted his way to the top! Because of his unique upright running style, he was nicknamed “The Duck,” but he was truly one of the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) when it came to running.

He was a four-time Olympic champion and eight-time World champion. He’s the only male athlete to win both the 200 meters and 400 meters events in the same Olympics, and the only man in history to successfully defend an Olympic title in the 400 meters. Beginning in 1993, Johnson won 58 consecutive 400 meters races in a row in international competitions!

Michael Johnson was a CHAMPION because he used his God-given talents to the best of his ability.

For several years now, KiDs Beach Club^® has been officially accredited by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). But what does that mean, exactly?

Simply put, ECFA evaluates faith-based, non-profit organizations using their Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship™, including financial accountability, transparency, board governance, and ethical fundraising. ECFA accreditation is considered to be the “gold standard” of accountability for ministries across the U.S. and around the world.

Accountability to God is a given for KBC, but people form their impressions of both people and organizations by looking at the outward appearances (1 Samuel 16:7). The basis for establishing ECFA and developing their seven standards is clearly based up the writings of the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 8:21 (NIV): "For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men."

Fifteen seconds was all it took to change one man’s life, and also change the way religious liberty is valued in America!

Growing up in the blue-collar town of Bremerton, Wash., Joe Kennedy was a troubled youth. Joe grew up in a seemingly normal household. But then, at the tender age of 10, Joe’s parents broke the news to him and his sister that they had been adopted at an early age. Joe rebelled against the news, and against the world.

Ultimately, he decided that the only way to bring his anger under control was to join the U.S. Marines, which he did. In his journey, Joe found the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, and his life was forever changed. He longed to help struggling kids avoid the anger and bitterness he’d felt growing up, so he became a football coach to help mold young men’s lives.

But then, on a cool Friday night, just after one of the football games he’d coached ended, Joe kneeled at midfield and said a silent 15-second prayer thanking God for everything in his life. No students were involved, no words were spoken aloud.

That 15 seconds cost him his job.

For seven long years, Joe’s attorney’s fought in court-after-court, losing every appeal to get him reinstated. But then, in June of 2022, the United States Supreme Court agreed to hear his case, and agreed with Joe that individuals have the right to engage in personal religious expression. The Supreme Court ruled in Kennedy v. Bremerton School District:

“… a government entity sought to punish an individual for engaging in a personal religious observance, based on a mistaken view that it has a duty to suppress religious observances even as it allows comparable secular speech. The Constitution neither mandates nor tolerates that kind of discrimination.”

Joe Kennedy was a CHAMPION because he never stopped fighting for what he believed in!
