SUNNYVALE INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS SLIDE INTO GREAT TREASURE DAY!

Mar 20 12:57 PM
Mar 20 12:57 PM

Positioned in the open area of Sunnyvale Intermediate School in Sunnyvale, Texas, is a massive 2-story corkscrew slide that culminates in the school's open-pit library.

Entrance to the slide is usually blocked off, as school administration is careful to reserve this experience for only the most special of occasions.

And special it was, because on February 14th, not only was it Valentine's Day, but it was Great Treasure Day for this school and its church partner First Baptist Church Sunnyvale! In honor of this special day for its Beach Club®, Principal Sara Staley opened up the slide to every child who was receiving their very own KiDs Beach Club® Study Bible! An exception was made for the first one down the slide, because he had his own Bible: Dr. Deron Biles, pastor of our partnering church.

We love hearing stories like this and seeing communities come together to celebrate the Great Treasure of God's Word! Enjoy the pictures below, especially the one of Dr. Biles making his landing!

SPOTLIGHT ON BEACH CLUB® IMPACT: POYNTER ELEMENTARY

Ray and Nancy Baldwin, Turning Point Church, Crowley, Texas

BECAUSE OF BEACH CLUB®, GOD OPENED DOORS TO MINISTER TO THE ENTIRE STUDENT BODY!

Ray and Nancy Baldwin have been long-time advocates for KiDs Beach Club®. For more than 10 years, they have been Club leaders and eyewitnesses to the transformational impact that a Beach Club® can have in their community and their church.

But like many Club leaders since the pandemic, the Baldwins have experienced a major decline in weekly Beach Club® attendance. Their Club at Poynter Elementary School went from an average of 120 students each week to having only 20-30 each week. They've scratched their heads and tried to figure out the "why." Ultimately, they just kept pressing on, doing what God had called them to do to reach their community. Their job was to be obedient, and it was God's job to provide the kids. Well, we are here to tell you that God did indeed provide the kids...just not in the way they expected!

Every Tuesday, the Baldwins faithfully serve Poynter Elementary School through their Beach Club®. For years now, they have taken every opportunity to love on the school faculty and staff and be used however needed. Little did they know that their faithfulness would open BIG doors to minister to the entire student body! You see, school administrators recently asked Ray and Nancy to teach all 448 students about character every single Thursday. When asked if they would commit to this, they asked what parameters they had to follow. The answer was an astounding, "None. We trust you!" So on top of their Tuesday Beach Club®, they now teach the entire student body about character every Thursday!

God is rewarding their efforts, too. Since this new opportunity, they have seen students stop the principal in the hallway and pray for her on the spot. Another student told them, "I blessed my teacher today." When they asked how, the student replied, "I prayed for her." You know you're doing something right when you see the change right before your eyes, and that's a pretty exciting thing!

A few weeks ago, one student became very ill and fell unconscious. Paramedics were called on the scene, and emergency vehicles arrived, causing the school to be on lockdown. In God's providence, Ray and Nancy were already on the school campus when all this was taking place. Students were upset and afraid, and school administrators asked the Baldwins to station themselves in the school cafeteria, just in case any students needed to talk or wanted to pray. Ray and Nancy prayed for the student, and all across the room, students and teachers began praying. Afterward, the principal began walking toward the front. Ray and Nancy both wondered if their prayers were not well-received, but instead, the principal just gave them a big hug. "This was exactly the best response to the situation. Thank you!"

You know, none of these open doors in the community would be open if it weren't for Ray and Nancy's initial commitment to lead a Beach Club®, week after week, year after year. Beach Club® opened the door, but it was the faithfulness of the Baldwins to constantly look for new ways to reach their community that kept that door open, despite having a smaller number of kids in Club.

Thank you, Ray and Nancy, for once again sharing your great stories with us and for impacting your community, giving every boy and girl at Poynter Elementary a Jesus Experience!

Beach Patrol Mobilizers Making a Difference!

Feb 27 6:40 AM
Feb 27 6:40 AM

Here at KiDs Beach Club® (KBC), we have an incredible group of volunteers that we call our Beach Patrol. ICYMI, Beach Patrol is what we call our volunteers OUTSIDE of Club. Included in our Beach Patrol is a top-notch team of Prayer Warriors, Event Planners, Photographers, and Story-Tellers. All of these roles help the ministry and fill the gaps where needed. But there's another group of volunteers not mentioned above, and that's our Beach Patrol Mobilizers!

What's a Mobilizer, you ask? Well, a Beach Patrol Mobilizer is a volunteer who is committed to being the "boots on the ground" for KBC in their local area, representing KBC by talking with churches and pastors, introducing them to the Beach Club® concept, and then speaking / training on behalf of KBC wherever the doors open. We currently have seven individuals actively serving as Mobilizers, all in either Texas or Florida, our two states with the most Beach Clubs®, and we have one more coming on board to serve in Illinois. Learn more about KBC Mobilizer Brian Broussard below, and be sure to keep reading to learn more about Beach Patrol and our other mobilizers!

Brian's Story...

Meet KBC Mobilizer Brian Broussard. Brian first heard about KiDs Beach Club® when his local church (First Baptist Church, Dover, Florida) was reporting on all that God was doing through their Beach Club® at Bailey Elementary School. After talking with his pastor, Brian not only knew he wanted to be involved, but he felt called to be used as a catalyst for starting new Beach Clubs® in his community.

With a self-compiled list of churches / people to contact, Brian knew he had to be better equipped about sharing KBC with others, so he reached out to our Mobilization Coordinator Tina Kimbro for some tips. Little did he know we actually had this thing called "Beach Patrol" that fit him like a glove!

Before even completing the application for Beach Patrol, Brian started meeting with pastors on his list. He scheduled his first meeting with Pastor Pete, and earlier this month, Pastor Pete's church launched their very first Beach Club®! They've been meeting only a few weeks and already have 22 children attending and 10 volunteers serving, all because one man followed the Lord's prompting and took action!

Brian has a list of churches still to contact, too. It's his desire is to find church partners to sponsor Beach Clubs® in every elementary school in Polk County, Florida! He ends every conversation with "LET'S GOOOOOOOO!"

But wait...there's more!

You see, Brian is not the only Beach Patrol Mobilizer God has brought to us! There's Amanda Watkins from Brian's home church. She is actively working as a volunteer promoter and trainer in Hillsborough Country, Florida, along with Pat Koritta from Plant City, Florida, who is volunteering as a trainer. Then there's Rachel (Marsha) Constine in Dunedin (Pinellas County) Florida who is volunteering at events and promoting KBC. Also in Florida is Melissa Schubeck, promoting and training for KBC in the Pensacola (Escambia County) Florida area.

In Texas, we have Aubrey Eudy, from Mesquite Church of Christ in Mesquite, Texas. For years, Aubrey has been singing the praises of KiDs Beach Club® at events, long before we had a formal Beach Patrol. Now he's "an official" Beach Patrol Mobilizer! Then there's Gene Parks, who has recently been influential in starting a new Club at her home church of First Baptist Watauga at Grace Hardeman Elementary School.

From Texas to Florida, and then up north to Illiniois! It's there that you'll find the Beach Patrol "Lone Ranger" Christiana Allen-Thompson. She's been trained to promote KBC, and hopefully soon will begin her boots-on-the-ground journey and add another state to our KBC map of Beach Clubs®.

Why do we take the time to tell stories like Brian and the other Mobilizers? It's because KiDs Beach Club® does not exist without a dedicated team of volunteers in Club and outside of Club!

What is God asking you to do?

Maybe you're not someone who can volunteer as a mobilizer and help spread the word about KBC. We get it! Not everyone can be a bold Brian Broussard! But maybe God is asking you to do SOMETHING with Beach Patrol! The best place to start is by joining our Beach Patrol prayer team, led by our Volunteers Director Steve Brines and our Beach Patrol Prayer Leader (and long-time KBC supporter) Ted Carsons. Click on the "Hey Steve" button for our Volunteers Director Steve to reach out to you. If you're ready to join the Beach Patrol, click on that button and complete the application. We can't wait for you to be on the team!

IRAN ALIVE MINISTRIES HONORED WITH PRESTIGIOUS AWARD

Feb 26 10:41 PM
Feb 26 10:41 PM

Last week, several KBC staff members attended and exhibited at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Convention in Nashville, Tenn. We'll have some updates for you soon on the exciting things that took place during the event, but this announcement cannot wait!

Last week, the NRB presented KiDs Beach Club® partner Iran Alive Ministries (IAM) with a 2024 Special Service and Media Award for International Impact! We are beyond excited for them, and we are also humbled that God would allow us the privilege to be part of that international impact.

TAKE A MOMENT AND THINK ABOUT GOD'S PROVIDENCE!

Last year at the NRB Convention, KBC met and eventually began a partnership with Iran Alive Ministries. Over the next year, we would raise funds to dub all 55 episodes of our award-winning television show KiDs Beach Club® TV into Farsi, the native tongue of most Iranians as well as other nearby Middle Eastern countries.

As you know from our last Surf Report, our generous donors have now fully funded the Farsi project, with Season Three already airing three times each week in Iran. By God's grace, He allowed KBC to form a partnership with an organization that would win this prestigious award the very next year at the NRB Convention!

We praise God once again for this partnership, and for the work that Iran Alive is doing to reach those who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe this award also reflects the quality of the partnerships God has allowed us to have. Congratulations, Iran Alive, for this great award!
