A New Kind of Volunteer

It was at First Euless that the dream of the KiDs Beach Club® program began and started taking shape. Through the children's ministry under the leadership of Jack Terrell, Beach Clubs were first launched in the HEB ISD in the mid cities area of Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas.

First Euless recently featured one of their new volunteers as a testimony of how this program has made an impact and is changing lives. Emily Vaughn is among the first generation of a new kind of Beach Club leader - those who were once Beach Club students. Emily was saved in Beach Club. Now, God is using her to impact lives in the same ministry that God began using to impact her life almost 11 years ago.

In her elementary school's Beach Club, Emily vividly remembers her and her sister playing games, eating snacks and listening to stories about Jesus Christ. She remembers the day that Russell Gregory presented the Gospel and she gave her life to Christ, which ultimately led her entire family to First Euless.

Like so many of us, Emily's spiritual journey has not been easy. Even through times of rebellion Emily says, "My Savior would always chase after me and call me home - so I stopped running. By the grace of God, He continuously pours out His Spirit in my life and grows me in intimacy with Him." Now, God is using Emily in a way she never expected.

As Emily grew closer to the Lord, so did her desire to worship Him using music. She began to pray that God would give her the ability to sing. Emily says, "What followed was very unexpected and far surpassed what I asked for." Not only did she begin to sing, but she learned to play guitar! Emily gives full credit to God for the ability to do both. As only God could design, His plans for using those gifts took her back to a local Beach Club.

Each week at KBC, Emily leads the worship time for the students. "Today God is using the gift He gave me and graciously allows me to lead worship in the same ministry where He proclaimed me as His daughter." God is using Emily as part of other kids' lives just as volunteers were a part of hers, and new journeys of faith are beginning through her faithfulness to serve.

Bibles for Beach Club Update

September 27, 2014 we held our annual benefit dinner and auction fundraiser and had a wonderful time with everyone who was able to attend. This year all proceeds went toward our initiative of providing every child in Beach Club a Bible of their own. The new KiDs Beach Club® Study Bible is in production and we are expecting our first shipment in the coming weeks. This spring will be the first installment of this initiative as we anticipate putting a Bible in the hands of 10,000 children.

We know that God's word is the greatest treasure on earth. We know that it is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. We know it is sharper than any two-edged sword and can cut through anything. We want to equip children and root them in the life changing word of God. We have seen in the news recently increased opposition to the things of God and especially the reading of His word by students in schools.

Last Thursday, October 16, was Bring Your Bible To School Day. This Day of Dialogue initiative, sponsored by Focus on the Family, was designed to encourage students to celebrate their religious freedoms and share God's hope with their peers. We rejoice that KiDs Beach Club® has been able to distribute over 21,000 Bibles to Beach Club children and encourage them to bring their Bible to school every day since 2003. We are excited to continue and eagerly anticipate putting 10,000 Bibles in the hands of every Beach Club student this spring.

Michalla Revland, Area Director in Mesquite, Texas, shared recently that she had the privilege of leading four kids to Christ at the new Beach Club at Hanby Elementary and only one said they had a Bible in their home. "Thank you from clubs "in the field" that have the comfort in knowing that a Bible will get in the hands of all the Beach Clubbers. What a great way for kids to be able to grow in their faith and for God's word to go inside the homes. It is a true blessing to give each child the Word of God."

We are trusting the Lord for an army of monthly supporters to sustain this initiative over the course of many, many years. We are committed to it for the long haul, until God says stop or Christ returns. Thank you to those who have already joined with us in this effort. KiDs Beach Club® Announces New Area Director

We are pleased to announce Stacy Ross has joined the KiDs Beach Club® team. Please join us in welcoming Stacy as our newest Area Director.

Stacy has served as a volunteer in KiDs Beach Club® for two years. She is the Bible Connection Leader at her club, loves the Word of God, and especially loves sharing God's Word with kids. She has taught Sunday school, led workshops at KBC training events, and has even done a guest spot on an internet radio show.

We are pleased to announce Paul McCollum as Vice President, School Relations for KiDs Beach Club®.

KiDs Beach Club® is uniquely positioned to serve as a connecting link between an elementary school and a local church. Ministering to children on a school campus is a tremendous honor, and we value each relationship with all of our Independent School Districts, County Schools and Parish Schools.
